Nintendo Switch Sports — Interactive HTML5 Banner
This project involved creating a set of responsive, animated HTML5 banners for the Nintendo Switch Sports game. Using a client‑provided video and brand assets, I developed multiple interactive formats, including an over‑the‑image banner and a parallax scroller version. All formats were designed to remain readable and visually consistent across any background image, website layout, or device.
The Challenge
Because the banner loads over random partner images, every element — video, typography, buttons, and motion — had to remain readable regardless of background contrast or composition. The intro animation also required precise behavior: the banner could occupy only up to 30% of the image before transitioning smoothly to the bottom area.
Ensuring smooth transitions, consistent visibility, and responsive behavior across desktop and mobile made this project technically demanding. Every animation had to adapt to unpredictable background images and varying screen sizes without losing clarity or impact.
The Solution
I built a fully responsive HTML/CSS animation system that adapts to any background image and screen size. The over‑the‑image banner uses controlled motion, opacity layers, and safe‑zone layout rules to ensure clarity. The scroller version uses a parallax effect that reacts to user movement, creating a dynamic and engaging experience without overwhelming the surrounding content.

The final banners delivered a smooth, responsive, and visually engaging experience that worked reliably across partner websites. The animations remained readable over any background image, and the interactive behavior performed consistently on both desktop and mobile. The client appreciated the flexibility of the formats and the polished motion design that elevated the original video assets.
This project showcases a creative adaptation of client‑provided materials for portfolio demonstration purposes only. All trademarks, brand assets, and imagery belong to their respective owners.
